SUMMARY

Welds overlapping edges of positioned components with portable spot-welding gun to fabricate sheet metal assemblies such as panels and shelves, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Positions and clamps electrodes under overlapping edges of workpiece. Presses electrode against workpiece at specified weld points to complete circuit between electrodes, and heats metal to joining temperature. Removes electrode after specified period of time. Adjusts equipment for automatic timing of current. Positions and clamps workpieces together. Examines welded components to detect defects. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One month related experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
