SUMMARY

Receives incoming shipments, verifies and keeps records of shipments and prepares items for distribution to the plant by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Verifies shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items from incoming shipments and compares information to bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify these issues. Pulls items using PIC list and routes them to appropriate departments or individuals within the facility. Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts to move materials to storage or work areas. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and common fractions.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form..

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Forklift certification requires.  Individual will be required to go through in-house training program.
