Design Engineer

Reports to:  Engineering Manager

Department:  Design Engineering

Purpose:  To assist in creating, developing and implementing products for Eagle Group

Organizational Relationship:  This position will report to a Product Engineering Manager.  This position may direct relationships with Industrial Engineering, Purchasing, Production Control, Sales, Customer Service, Marketing and Quality Control.

Education or Training:

•  Associates or Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Related Program
•  Previous work experience related to manufacturing and/or sheet metal
•  High School Diploma at the minimum

Classification and Responsibilities:

•  Design product from customer drawings and specifications
•  Develop product instructions for both manufacturing and customer
•  Understanding of CAD software and related functionality to allow independent work effort
•  Must have general understanding of manufacturing techniques and equipment
•  Must be able to structure BOM's with multiple level considerations
•  Must be able to identify key components of a project and review those issues with Product
   Manager as to not delay purchases and/or project
•  Must be able to enter Purchase Orders
•  Type and format memos and instructions for internal communications
•  Must be aware of NSF, UL and CSA guidelines for equipment fabrication
•  Should be aware of key contacts within manufacturing
•  To include those responsibilities of CAD Draftsperson I

CAD Draftsperson I Responsibilities:
•  Must be able to work in a team environment
•  Create detail drawings of components and assemblies using CAD software
•  Develop simple part models and provide parts drawings
•  Have a general understanding of MRP
•  Understand scanning process for drawing database
•  Must use CAD software to create new parts and assemblies with information provided by
   Product Manager
•  Must use advanced software tools such as exploded assemblies and family tables
•  Must have understanding of MRP related codes and system variables and impact of
actions on database
•  Must be able to identify and calculate material requirements for use in creating BOM files
•  Must be able to structure BOM files within MRP system
•  Must be able to record and maintain files for projects
