Credit Analyst I

SUMMARY

To review and update all accounts for credit worthiness.  A full knowledge of the Credit Department’s policies and procedures is required.  Review and comprehend credit reports and make decisions based on these reports. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Post the deposits to Accounts Receivable.  Collect the open balance on A/R via telephone calls, facsimile transmissions, letters and e-mails.  Follow up with Sales on any deductions taken from A/R.  Review credits.  Establish new accounts.  Review credit information to establish credit lines for new accounts and update existing accounts.  Communicate with sales representatives regarding open balances and credit extensions.  Work with the Customer Service and Parts Manager to resolve disputes on A/R.  Process checks received in-house for deposit to the bank.  Process charge card sales.  Request release codes by facsimile transmission and the internet for Buying Group orders.  Enter release codes in the Company’s DOE system.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Six months to one year related experience and/or training. Degree in business preferred but not mandatory.   


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read an interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine correspondences.  Ability to speak effectively in a group setting.  


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
